and you rip out all I have just to say that you've won;

[ It's Valentine's Day and Dean is on Cas' doorstep, taking a moment to compose himself into the cool kid everyone knows and loves. He pops his dad's leather jacket's collar up; it's too big for him, but it's obvious he's trying hard to fill it.
There's no reason to be nervous. They're friends and they've always been friends. So he finally knocks on the door. ]

I... just told you... it's for couples and people who... like each other romantically. [ He shifts and leans forward a little more, his voice lowering as if someone would be listening in on their conversation. ]
Do you?
no subject
I don't understand your anger. If you wanted chocolate, what's wrong with me giving it to you? If there's something wrong with me, then say it. [ it doesn't come out as accusatory, just a bit frustrated. he means that honestly. sometimes he does things wrong. he'd rather dean say it. ]
no subject
I don't care about the damn chocolate. And it's not because there's something wrong with you, asshole. It's what they mean, get it? [ He finds it hard enough to say this, he doesn't want to elaborate on it. He figures Cas can't understand--Cas never laughed at his jokes--but there's a part of him that hopes he's getting it. ]
no subject
I don't. [ he's seems to be on the verge of something, but he deflates at the last moment, and leans back. he settles into the squeaky seats and rests his hands firmly on his knees, instead choosing to stare out the window and wait for their order. ]
no subject
Their orders come within the next few minutes, and Dean immediately digs in. He preferred the other burgers, but right now all he wanted was to stuff it in his face. As much as he tries not to, though, he keeps glancing up to Cas. ]
no subject
but when he does, he catches sight of dean, and seems to remember the serious atmosphere, and drops his hands back into his lap somberly. ] Sorry.
no subject
Do you want another?
no subject
You must be busy today.
no subject
Why's that?
no subject
You're going to get laid. [ he does lean closer, but he also grabs what's left on dean's plate to munch upon contentedly. he takes a sip of his drink, makes a face, and just drinks from dean's instead. ]
no subject
Man, I wish. [ But instead of spending the day with a girl, he chose to spend the day with a guy who takes his food he is not going to forgive that. At least until he motions the waitress over with a hand. ]
What was wrong with your drink?
no subject
I thought... [ he's a little distracted by staring at the waitress, but he manages to summon his thoughts. ] I thought you would take out a girl and get laid. Because tonight is the night to get laid.
no subject
Well, I'm not, am I? [ He doesn't particularly want to delve into that, so he looks at the nearing waitress. ] Chicks don't bite unless you want 'em to, Cas. [ And when she arrives, he orders a couple more burgers, both for Cas, and some fries for himself so he wasn't completely starving. ]
no subject
Why aren't you going to sleep with someone? It is Valentine's Day. [ he seems mildly curious. this entire day was just getting stranger and stranger. ]
no subject
He clears his throat at Cas' question, looking away. It wasn't so much that he didn't feel like having sex, but he didn't have a good answer for why he wasn't. It was weird to him, even, because he really was passing up a good chance and he didn't even care. ]
I'm just... not. I can sleep with whoever I want any day I want, but it's not gonna be today. [ He crosses his arms in a sign of manly defiance. ]

no subject
Uh--no, but I got a few love letters in my locker. Really desperate-sounding, though. I wasn't interested. [ He pauses. ] What about you? I mean, you'd be popular if you weren't so weird.
no subject
it just seemed natural. ] I thought you wanted to get laid.
no subject
I mean... can't a guy wanna spend time with his best friend more than getting laid?
no subject
Yes. You'll spend time with me now, and get laid with a girl later tonight. [ that was the way it had always been. he careens his head serenely to try and see if the burgers would arrive soon. ]
no subject
No, we're gonna-- [ But the waitress does indeed arrive with their food and Dean pulls his hand away from Cas' hastily. He pushes the second burger she had mistakenly given to him over to Cas. ]
no subject
he leans back into his seat and happily eats them, munching on them voraciously. ]
no subject
Don't choke. [ But he smiles and eats his French fries, never taking his eyes off Cas. ]
no subject
I'm done. [ he announces it like he doesn't think dean would notice, and then peers outside to see how much light is available. ] I want to stop by somewhere.
no subject
And he actually looks excited when Cas says he wants to do something, because he usually left the decision making up to Dean. He quickly takes out the money for the check left on the table, and stands up. ]
Yeah? Where?
